Webinar on exoskeletons for military use
27 May 2021 | 20:00-21:00 CEST
Members of EDTA associations are invited to participate in this webinar on exoskeletons, organised by our Netherlands member association KIVI.
The best possible equipment for soldiers is essential in the context of safety and functionality. In the past century, many tools and gadgets have been added to the equipment of individual soldiers. Each tool also added more weight. In some cases, soldiers now have to carry up to 60 kg. This translates into more stress on their joints as well as a greater risk of injuries and reduced performance.
To overcome this disadvantage, the start-up company InteSpring developed the Exobuddy exoskeleton in collaboration with DEC M&U and TNO. A military exoskeleton capable to reduce the load by more than 50% without actuators or external power supply. Instead, the ongoing moves of the user are turned into support force.
During this webinar the impressive development and test results will be shown.
